Went out to Oxford Casino for my first date night with my husband since the pandemic began in March. And for people who don’t gamble, the hotel portion wasn’t worth the money for the convenience. I would probably be more apt to use the Hampton Inn across the street or stay in Portland next time. Would I return? The whole reason we stayed was for a family reunion in the town next door. Since I carry hard copies of reservation, which were sent out by the hotel and were correct when issued, I get the feeling the hospitality end is still working out kinks. And when the back of the house miss applied the guest name to our reservation, it just felt like the reservation system needed reviewing. The front desk area was really too small for visitors to sign paperwork.
Ambience inside and by the front desk was dark and unwelcoming. For a 160+ room, I expect full size bath towels and a bath mat. These were oversized hand towels, and NO BATH MAT. I haven’t had such tiny bath towels since staying in old strip motels in the 1970’s. Though the hotel room was comfortable enough, it just seemed meh.
